WOODLAND HILLS -- If you have felt like winter has passed you by, the good people in one community would like to invite you over to help them clear the snow. Woodland Hills picked up nearly two feet of snow this weekend, proving that winter still exists.

For the first time this season, Marc Rupp is firing up his snowblower, trying to dig out from Sunday's snowstorm.

"It was almost bare ground up here, the grass was almost starting to turn green, and it was bare ground up here," Rupp said. "And then yesterday, you listen to the weatherman and it was supposed to rain, bring up some spring flowers and instead we get two feet of snow."

Snow isn't rare in Woodland Hills during the winter months, but so far this winter, it has been very rare. The elevation in Woodland Hills is close to six thousand feet, so while most of yesterday's storm has already started to melt, they expect to have snow here until spring officially arrives.

But the lack of snow up to this point has been bad for business, at least if you are Dennis Terry. He depends on the snow because for the past several years he has had a contract with the city to plow the streets of Woodland Hills.

It's a tricky job because the roads are all steep, and in some places very narrow.

"When you get a lot of snow, they get narrower and not a lot of places to push it," Terry said. "You have to bring in special equipment to move it out.

Other folks, like Rick Comstock, rely on the good old fashioned snow shovel to clear what the snowblower won't.

"The older I get, the less I like it. But you got to deal with it," said Rick Comstock. He never doubted the snow would eventually get here.
