Deanie Wimmer reporting Recovery is slow for a woman hit and seriously hurt last month by a UHP Trooper.
He ran a red light, while in pursuit, through an intersection.
Then and now, when you see these pictures, it's amazing she and her children even survived. Those few seconds in an intersection have changed their lives.
Tina Murray can walk if someone steadies her. Her shoulder needs surgery, her head injuries persist and her jaw is wired shut.
Yet, the one time she saw footage of the accident, she knew she was blessed.
Tina Murray, Crash Victim: I just saw it one time, on the news, and i started bawling. It really upset me. Luckily we're all alive"
Her fiance drove by the crash on the way to the hospital.
Herb Begay / fiance: I looked at the car, saw all the ambulances and the only thing I could think was I hope she knows who I am. I hope she's ok."
While they're grateful, they're also angry life may never be the same.
Tina Murray, Crash Victim: "It's really frustrating. I need to have help to do everything, for preparing food. And homework, I can't do with my son and that's hard, because we always read."
Herb Begay / fiance: "Part of why she's angry, she's stopped every day life. All the things she did, she's not doing any more."
They're still not sure of the extent of injuries or trauma to their children. Her son won't talk about it. But she says they'll focus on what she has learned.
Tina Murray, Crash Victim: "Every minute, and every moment is precious to me."
The Tooele County Attorney charged Trooper Jeremy Floyd for failing to yield to a red light. He had his lights on, but no siren.
The UHP is still continuing its internal investigation to see what if any discipline they'll pursue.
