OverviewIn this Sunday Edition, we'll preview the big issues facing the Utah Legislature that convenes tomorrow with House Speaker Becky Lockhart and Senate Minority Leader Ross Romero. Plus, we'll take a closer look at Utah's real election day and what politicians on both sides are trying to do to increase attendance at neighborhood caucuses. And we'll have a conversation with Congressional candidate Mia Love.

Segment 1Tomorrow, the Utah Legislature convenes its annual 45 day session to do the people's business on capitol hill. The opening of the session is always a time of promise and a time of some trepidation. Bruce Lindsay welcomed legislative leaders, Speaker of the House Becky Lockhart and Senate Minority Ross Romero to discuss their goals for the new session.

Segment 2

Many people believe Utah's real election day is the day neighborhood caucuses are held but few people attend. Attendance at Republican neighborhood caucus meetings across the state in 2010 totaled 58,000 but there are about 1.5 million registered voters in Utah. A bipartisan bill designed to achieve widespread attendance at those caucuses will be introduced at the opening of this week's annual legislative session. We spoke to the bill's sponsors, Sen. Karen Mayne (D) and Rep. Kraig Powell about Utah's caucus system.

Segment 3

Mia Love is a wife, mother, and mayor of Saratoga Springs. This month she announced she is running for Congress in Utah's new 4th District which has her joining an already a crowded GOP field. She sat down Bruce Lindsay to discuss her campaign and plan to change Washington.
