SALT LAKE CITY — One woman is in jail and police were looking for another Wednesday in connection with the kidnapping of a man that one of the women was reportedly dating.

A man, who had been dating a woman on-and-off for a couple of months, woke up at an acquaintance's home one morning to find his debit card and cell phone missing, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Josh Ashdown.

The man reacted by taking a laptop belonging to the acquaintance, Ashdown said. He told police he was holding it for collateral and had arranged with his girlfriend to exchange the computer for his items on Jan. 11.

When the man and his girlfriend met, however, she forced him into a vehicle at knife-point, then tied a shoelace between the two, and made him drive to a bank in West Jordan, Ashdown said.

The woman forced the man to go inside the bank to withdraw money, he said. Instead, the man went inside and out another door to call police. The girlfriend was still waiting in the car when officers arrived, Ashdown said.

Savannah Rios was arrested for investigation of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
