MACOMB, Ill. (AP) - Damon Heuir scored 22 points and Southern Utah shot 61.5 percent in a 65-55 victory over Western Illinois on Saturday night.

Ramell Taylor added 21 points and Jackson Stevenett 13 for the Thunderbirds (9-9, 4-4 Summit League), who hit 24 of 39 shots and won their second in a row.

Ceola Clark paced the Leathernecks (9-7, 4-4) with 16 points and recorded one steal to tie Bill Heisler's school career record of 167. Terell Parks had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Obi Emegano scored 13.

Western Illinois has lost two straight.

Clark opened the game with a 3-pointer, but the Thunderbirds replied with a 13-0 run and never trailed again.

The Leathernecks went 8:13 without scoring before Don McAvoy sank a 3-pointer with 10:12 left in the half.

Southern Utah was up 26-19 at intermission, and the lead peaked at 13 late in the game.
