West Valley City, Utah -The Grizzlies went 1-9 on the power play and were outshot 31-20 as the Bakersfield Condors went on to the 4-1 victory Wednesday night at the E-Center.

After going 0-5 on the one man advantage Monday night, the Condors took an early lead thanks to Mike Hofstrand's 18th goal of the season at 1:44 of the first. The Grizzlies, however, were unable to convert on their three power-play chances as they went in to the first intermission down, 1-0

The Grizzlies, on a 2-man advantage, evened the score at one when Barret Ehgoetz skated through the circle into the slot backhanding the puck into the net at the 11:42 mark. Ryan Kinasewich and Ed Hill picked up the assists. The Condors quickly reclaimed the lead when Mathieu Brunelle and Tyler Scott teamed up with Dave Bonk to put the Condors up 2-1, 44 seconds later.

Just over a minute into the third period, Eric Neilson put an unassisted goal away from the far circle to give the Condors a 3-1 lead. Kevin St. Jacques sealed the win for the Condors when he put the puck into the empty net. The score gave St. Jacques his 1,000th point of his professional career.

The Grizzlies (35-29-6) will wrap up the regular season this Friday and Saturday when they travel to Victoria to take on the Salmon Kings. Face-off is set for 7:05 p.m.

Next Thursday and Friday night the Grizzlies will host their first playoff games since the 2001-2002 season. Call 988-PUCK for tickets.
