BOUNTIFUL -- A woman who was hailed a hero last month for saving a couple from carbon monoxide poisoning wins a High 5 this week.
Neighbors say Heather Adair's good deeds extend beyond that heroic morning. On Dec.2, the day after hurricane-force winds knocked out power in Davis County, Heather felt compelled to run a different route.
"I went up that way and kind of just ended up thinking I should check on my neighbors, which what do you do checking on your neighbor at 6:30 in the morning?" she said.
She found the door open and David and April Weeks in bad shape as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning.
"I was able to help them get out and it was a neat feeling to be able to help someone," Heather said.
Her son, Nate Weeks, said, "If she wouldn't have been there, things likely could have been different."
If you asked everyone in this room, they would talk about the quiet, simple ways that she's helped them.

Fast-forward a few days and Heather made a difference yet again. Looking out the window of her home, she noticed a strange car in the neighborhood and a man scoping out doorsteps. The next day Heather spotted him again, eying a Christmas package, and confronted him.
"I said, ‘Hey, I saw you guys here yesterday. What are you guys doing? You need to get out of here. Stop stealing our packages,'" Heather recalled.
Heather's acts of service aren't always jaw-dropping or lifesaving.
Her neighbor Amy Beckstead said, "She knew my husband's favorite New Year's treat and she brought it over to our house. She's helped everybody with their children. She's always looking out."
"She's an amazing person," Amy added. "If you asked everyone in this room, they would talk about the quiet, simple ways that she's helped them."
With most of her family out of state, Heather considers her neighbors her family. Amy said, "I couldn't think of a better friend and a better neighbor."
Les Schwab, our High 5 partners, run their business by the motto of doing the right thing. They gave Heather a gift basket to express their thanks for doing the right thing in her neighborhood.
