US pop diva Madonna announced the dates for her new Confessions world tour on Monday and vowed to turn the globe into "one big dance floor".
The singer, 47, who has settled in Britain, will swing through North America from May to July before heading to Europe throughout August, with Japan also on the list.
"I'm going to turn the world into one big dance floor", said Madonna, who has already begun rehearsals in Los Angeles with her troupe of musicians and dancers.
The North American leg kicks off at the Los Angeles Forum on May 21 then heads to Las Vegas, San Jose, Fresno, Phoenix, Chicago, Montreal, Hartford, New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Atlantic City before ending in Miami on July 22.
The European leg starts in Cardiff on July 30 before heading to London, Rome, Duesseldorf, Hannover, Horsens in Denmark then Paris before winding up on September 3 in Amsterdam.
The tour will visit Tokyo and Osaka in Japan, with the promise of more dates to come.
Frenchman Jean Paul Gaultier will design the tour costumes.
The Material Girl's most recent album, "Confessions On A Dance Floor", has been a huge hit, topping the charts in 40 different countries since its November 2005 release.
The world tour will be the star's first since the 2004 Re-Invention concerts.
