PROVO -- A Provo City School bus aide has been fired after a parent claims she saw the aide assault a student.

According to the Daily Herald, Heather Sires was standing at a bus stop waiting to pick up her 10-year-old son when she noticed the bus aide shoving a boy down into his seat.

Sires reported the incident to the district, saying the boy stood back up and the aide shoved the boy so hard he flew back and hit his head on the window. Sires claims the aide also cursed at the boy.

The Herald reports that the school district fired the aide and turned over information to Provo police for investigation.
