LOGAN — Police arrested four men and a teen believed to be responsible for a major crime spree involving at least 191 cases of burglary, theft, robbery and drive-by shootings in Utah and Idaho.
Police say the five arrested may have been involved in at least 191 cases of burglary, theft, robbery and drive-by shootings in Utah and Idaho.
Antonio Orozco-Cruz, 29, and Leonal Martinez-Rico, 19, both of Lewsiton, have been booked into the Cache County Jail, while Hector Daniel Diaz, 20, of Franklin, and Jose Antonio Padilla, 18, of Preston, have been booked into the Caribou County Jail in Soda Springs. A 17-year-old Hispanic male associated with the men is also being held at an Idaho detention center, according to Logan City Assistant Police Chief Jeff Curtis.
Curtis said multiple agencies have been investigating the case for weeks. The group is accused of stealing various valuable electronics, dozens of guns and being involved in two neighborhood drive-by shootings in early November.
The men broke into several parked vehicles, as well as homes, taking firearms and electronic equipment from inside, among other things, Curtis said.
The crimes took place in Logan and Ogden, as well as in Preston and other areas of Franklin and Bannock counties in Idaho. Curtis said felony charges are pending and additional possible charges are under investigation.
