What's better than skiing in Utah? The Utah ski industry delivers $1 billion to the state economy, not to mention thousands of jobs statewide, and some of the best ski resorts in North America.

Utah's largest player is Canyons Resort in Park City. In case you're in the mood to try something completely new, Canyons Resort has teamed up with Wasatch Powderbird Guides to take you to untouched ski runs.

Canyons Resort gets the bragging rights as the biggest ski resort in Utah and the fourth largest in North America. This privately-held resort is giving back to Utah through capital investments. They recently added 300 acres of brand new skiing, increasing their size to 4,000 acres. These 10 new runs range from intermediate to advanced and provide gladed tree skiing.

They also opened last season with their Orange Bubble Chair, one of the most technologically-advanced chairlifts in the world. It's a high speed quad with heated seats and a bubble enclosure to protect you from the cold. It's a marvel of engineering. This lift will increase uphill skier traffic by almost 50 percent and get you up the hill in just nine minutes. New this year is a unique zip line circuit with two different lines stretching more than 2,100 feet.

The gondola has been moved over for easier access and if that's not enough, a new "ski beach" has been added with an award-winning culinary service team and a great view of the mountains. This is a great place to relax and unwind after a long day of hitting the slopes. Canyons Resort has also decided to put in a 20-million gallon reservoir for snow-making, which doubles its previous capacity. This is a welcome addition to the almost 400 inches of natural snow the resort gets every year.
