KAYSVILLE -- Hundreds of children in Utah are waiting to become part of a family, waiting for adoption.
November is Adoption Awareness Month -- a time to recognize those affected by adoption, and a time to remember those children still waiting for that forever home.
Two such people, Jon and Kim Layton, admit they are blessed. After years of trying to have children they turned to adoption.
"I love my family very much," Jon said. "I've got three wonderful kids and an awesome wife."
"To be able to have three kids after going through that trial, it's just an amazing experience and a wonderful blessing," he said.

Their oldest, Cade, came with just eight days warning. Jake showed up two and a half years later, and then little Lea a few years after that.
"Adoption has changed our lives. It has brought three incredible children into our lives and made us a family," Kim said.
There are hundreds of children currently in the Utah foster care system -- and the Adoption Exchange is working to find every single one a home. The Boondocks in Kaysville was filled Saturday with children and families all affected by adoption. Some have found a home and some are still waiting.
"Adoption is a wonderful way in which a child can be placed into a home with a family so they can have all the opportunities possible," said Tammy Clark of the Utah Adoption Council.
Opportunities for these children and opportunities the Laytons would never have had without adoption.
"It's been the most incredible journey for us it's something we just wouldn't change," Tammy said.
