TAYLORSVILLE — One man is in custody and police are looking late Saturday for at least three others in the fatal shooting of 35-year-old man.

The unidentified victim was shot twice in the chest while he was in his apartment, said police Sgt. Tracy Wyant. Police didn't know if anyone else was in the apartment.

Police were notified of the shooting about 4 p.m. from an anonymous caller and arrived at the Summerwood Apartments, 5624 S. 1900 West, in time to see several people they believed to be involved in the shooting fleeing from the scene in a maroon Dodge pickup. The truck had art work of a skull on either the back window or bumper.

A man who fled on foot was taken into custody for questioning, Wyant said, and police are looking for two and possibly three Caucasian females and one Polynesian male who fled in the truck.

A resident of the apartment complex, who declined to be identified, said he saw a man walk from the apartment where the shooting took place and get into the maroon pickup truck.

"Within a couple of minutes police were swarming all over this place," he said.

Wyant said police have no motive, but believe the shooting may be drug related.
