(KSL News) -- A plea deal was offered to an Idaho man accused of blowing out a section of Highway 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon.
Travis Stewart has two weeks to decide if he wants to accept it.
Stewart was driving on Highway 6 last August in a semi- truck carring 36,000 pounds of explosives. He came around a sharp curve, the truck jackknifed and skidded across the road.
The cargo blew up, leaving a 70-foot wide hole in the road. The explosion curled railroad lines, sparked fires on the mountain, and injured at least ten people.
Stewart pleaded not-guilty in January, but his attorney says, depending on the restitution amount --which could be hundreds of thousands of dollars -- he may consider a plea bargain.
