NEW YORK, Mar 16, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti was reported to be in New York Thursday seeking treatment for severe back pain.
Pavarotti, 70, flew into the Big Apple from Barbados Wednesday night, a spokesman told the New York Daily News.
He underwent surgery last year to repair two vertebrae, the newspaper noted.
The chronic back pain has forced Pavarotti to reschedule some of the dates on his worldwide farewell tour, including Sunday's open air concert in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
