On December 28, police found the baby's body in a Murray home, but they later discovered she had actually died in a home in Taylorsville. Police say the baby was left unattended on a couch. The boyfriend told the baby's mother that the baby ingested a bag containing a large amount of methamphetamine.

Police say the baby suffered several stages of a meth overdose for two days, before dying. Police say the mother and her boyfriend then tried to cover it up.

Sgt. Rosie Rivera, Taylorsville Police: "They loaded her up into the car, took her over to the Murray address, and there they laid her on a bed, called 911, and acted if they had just discovered her dead."

They baby's mother, Mary Lacey, and her boyfriend, Ray Chesley, now face criminal charges, including desecration of a body, which is a third-degree felony. Police presented the case to prosecutors this morning.
