(KSL News) Salt Lake Mayoral candidate John Renteria has been ousted from his position as President of the Centro Civico Mexicano.

The board of the organization voted 17-8 last night to strip Renteria of his position.

Those leading the charge said the organization has been poor, and that Renteria has not been willing to share leadership roles with the board.

They also brought up Renteria's arrest for driving-related crimes.

Vice President Richard Montano will now serve as acting president until a replacement can be found.
