LEHI, Utah (AP) - Authorities say a 63-year-old Lehi man missing since Sunday has been found dead in Tooele County.

ABC-4 reports that Robert Mertlich was found Thursday with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police say Tooele County Sheriff's Office dispatchers received a call that Mertlich's truck had been spotted Wednesday night in the Lookout Pass area.

Authorities began searching and found his body Thursday.

Lehi Police Lt. Darren Paul says authorities began searching for Mertlich after his wife returned Sunday and found him gone along with his truck.

Police say Mertlich did not take his cell phone or pack any clothes and failed to show up for work.

An investigation is ongoing.
