Box Elder 23, Bear River 6
This year's edition of the longest uninterrupted rivalry, Battle for the Golden Spike, goes to Box Elder. The Bee's defense was too much for the Bears, who did not score until the 4th quarter. Box Elder was able to grind out the game on the ground with 3 different players rushing for TDs, QB Britton Gunter accounting for one of those as well as 102 yards rushing. Hazen Wood caught a 68 yard TD pass from Bear River QB Wade Miller with 5:07 left in the game. Lone Peak 21, Davis 10
5A powers Lone Peak and Davis faced off in Kaysville with the Knights beating the Darts on their home field. Lone Peak QB Chase Hansen passed for three touchdowns, two of which went to Zac Saunders and the first going for 68 yards. Hansen accounted for 379 of the 432 yards of total offense for the Knights, 258 through the air and 121 on the ground.

Logan 56, Bountiful 31
DJ Nelson was the shining star of this game which saw Logan blasting Bountiful. The Grizzlies' QB accounted for all 7 of the offensive TDs, passing for 6 and rushing for another, he also had 323 passing yards. Logan's defense also kept Bountiful to a 1.9 yards/play average. The Braves fourth quarter comeback, 21 points, came against the 2nd team defense, but still came up short.

Morgan 41, Wasatch 10
The Morgan Trojans ran all over long-time rival Wasatch Wasps in Heber City. The Trojans used the legs of RB/LB Bridger Anderson who had 156 yards rushing with 3 TDs and don't forget the 85 yard kick return for a touchdown. Joseph Kippin also added 133 yards on 8 carries and a TD for Morgan. The Wasps were able to get 10 points on a Jake Larson 54 pass from James Delacenserie and a Jason Larson 36 yard field goal.

Manti 28, Emery 0
Two strong defenses met on Friday, with the Manti defense out shinning Emery in this class 2A showdown. The Templars' defense was the real stars of this game forcing 6 total turnovers, 3 fumbles and 3 interceptions. Manti also had 3 different ball carriers rush for TDs. Austin Jackson added fumble recovery for a TD.
