SALT LAKE CITY (August 28, 2007) - The Salt Lake Bees clinched the Pacific North Title and qualified for the 2007 Pacific Coast League (PCL) Playoffs after the Colorado Springs Sky Sox suffered a 2-1 loss to the Sacramento River Cats on Tuesday night. The loss put the Sky Sox six and one half games behind the Bees and out of reach of the division title. Postseason play begins Wednesday, September 5. This marks Salt Lake's second consecutive trip to the playoffs and 11th trip overall. Last season, the Bees lost in four games to the Tucson Sidewinders in the conference playoffs.

In postseason play (each series is a best of five games), the Pacific North winner plays the Pacific South winner and the American South winner plays the American North winner. The winner from each series will meet in the PCL Championship Series September 11-16. The Salt Lake Bees will face either the Sacramento River Cats or Tucson Sidewinders. The River Cats currently hold a four and one half games lead over the Sidewinders for the American South Division Title.

The first two games of the series will take place in Salt Lake City at Franklin Covey Field, with Game 1 on Wednesday, September 5 (7:05 p.m.) and Game 2 on Thursday, September 6 (7:05 p.m.). The Bees will then travel to either Sacramento or Tucson on Friday, September 7 for Game 3. If necessary, Games 4 and 5 would also be held on the road on Saturday, September 8 and Sunday, September 9.

The winner of the Pacific Conference Playoffs will then advance to the PCL Championship Series. That series will begin with two games hosted by the American Conference winner and will finish at the Pacific Conference winner's home field. The PCL Champion will then proceed to the Bricktown Showdown, in Oklahoma City, a one-game Triple-A Championship against the International League Champion.

Salt Lake Bees playoff tickets go on sale at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 29 and are available by calling 325-SEAT, the Franklin Covey Field box office, at slbees.com or at select Ticket Master locations. Tickets will only be sold for games that are guaranteed to be played.
