School Evacuated Because of Gas Leak

Randall Jeppesen, KSL NewsradioThe students at Pleasant Grove High school were forced to evacuate today after a construction crew hit a gas line in front of the school.

Construction crews are putting in new underground power lines to Pleasant Grove High School, but they unexpectedly found the gas line.

Principal Jess Christen said, "They smelled it up in the seminary first, and then the AG building, and then we started to evacuate."

Christen sent all the students out to the football field, where they waited around for an hour and a half.

The leak was capped, and students were allowed back in the building.
