(KSL News) -- Two businesses in Sandy were evacuated this morning due to a gas leak.

Construction on a building apparently severed a gas line, forcing the evacuation of approximately 2000 people.

Harman Music, and a company called ACS are the in the building, located at about 8700 South Sandy Parkway.

The Sandy fire department reports that the gas has been turned off. Questar is currently running test to check the gas levels.

Mike Veenendaal, Sandy Fire Department: "It appears everything is clear, and they will be allowing employees back in, in a short time now."

Fire Department units from West Jordan and Midvale also responded to the scene.
