This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

After 25 years of working in the fine dining arena of Park City, Jeff Ward decided why not try his hand at owning a restaurant? So, he and his wife Lisa bought Silver Star Café in Park City two years ago.

After remodeling, they are committed to the dining experience by being open for dinner seven nights a week, for lunch Monday through Friday and serving brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. How's that for engaged restaurant owners?

Silver Star Café is a local place for sure. Located at the base of Park City Mountain's Silver Star lift, it overlooks the beautiful Park City Municipal Golf Course, which if you like to golf is a must see this fall. And when the snow flies and ski season is underway, this is a perfect setting to end up in after a day of hitting the slops. Plus, it's adding to the tourism engine of Summit County. Tourism creates over 12,000 jobs each year, and around $1.4 billion is spent in beautiful Park City. Jeff and Lisa are part of this success with their café.

In meeting with Jeff, he said he is looking to create an "approachable offer" to dining in Park City by presenting interesting food that tastes good, is affordable and is served in a casual and comfortable atmosphere. Oh and this is a dog-friendly restaurant. If you go in the summer months, you'll likely see diners bringing their dogs into the outdoor seating area. Just one more reason Park City is affectionately called "Bark City."

Silver Star Café has also caught onto the trend of featuring a local artist within their restaurant with all the proceeds going back to the artist. What a great win-win! They're currently featuring a Utah glass artist who has some interesting pieces.

Silver Star Café serves "home-style cooking with a Western influence." Lisa brings a marketing background to the operation and wants Silver Star Café to be known as a gathering for friends and family and makes sure people walk away with that connection.
