(KSL News) A plane crash in St. George sent two people to the hospital tonight.

The single-engine plane was attempting to land at the St. George airport, but the original approach was too short. So the plane circled around and tried landing again, but instead it crashed into the side of the mountain.

Officials shut down Bluff Street for close to an hour, while crews worked to extricate the two people inside the plane.

Both are currently in critical condition.

The FAA is investigating the crash.
