(KSL News) A National Guard chopper pilot was laid to rest today in Payson.

Pilot Laid to Rest in Payson

Chief Warrant Officer Clayton Barnes died when his Apache helicopter crashed during a training flight Monday night in Utah County.

Barnes served in the Utah National Guard for 13 years and served a tour of duty in Afghanistan. His family says he felt honored to fight for his country.

Barnes leaves behind three children and a wife who is expecting their fourth child.

James Linder also died in the crash. He was buried yesterday.
