(KSL News) Governor Jon Huntsman is in Washington DC this morning, vying for support for a new national immigration policy.
The governor wants legislation that includes a temporary guest worker program but not blanket amnesty. His resolution aims, in part, to protect the safety of the U.S. and its citizens while recognizing the need to have a stable and legal supply of foreign workers to fill some U.S. jobs.
The Governor is now trying to get all Western governors on board. Governor Huntsman says all Western governors have a copy of the resolution and seem supportive.
