OGDEN -- Fire destroyed a carport, damaged four vehicles and caused several families to temporarily evacuate their homes early Wednesday morning in Ogden.
Ogden firefighters said in a news release that crews responded to a call of a structure fire near 29th Street and Fowler Avenue just before 3 a.m.
When crews arrived, they found a carport and four vehicles parked underneath it engulfed in flames.
They evacuated residents from the nearby apartment building then extinguished the flames, although downed power lines initially limited access to the fire.
Damage is estimate at $80,000. No injuries were reported. No word on what caused the fire.
Residents were able to return to their apartments within an hour.
