SALT LAKE CITY (August 24, 2007) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that pitcher Bartolo Colon will make a rehab start for the Salt Lake Bees when the team faces the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Saturday, August 25 at 7:05 p.m. (MST) in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Angels also announced Thursday that the team has recalled infielder Kendry Morales and optioined infielder Brandon Wood to the Bees.

Colon, a native of Altamira, Dominican Republic, has been on the disabled list since July 24 with an elbow irritation. The 2005 Cy Young Award winner made one start for Salt Lake when the Bees faced the Las Vegas 51s on April 15 in a previous rehab outing and tossed seven scoreless innings. Pedro Liriano, the original scheduled starter, will follow Colon when his outing is complete.

Morales, a native of Formento, Cuba, was batting .341 with 20 doubles, five home runs and 37 RBI in 64 games with the Bees this season. He has appeared in 20 games with the Angels in 2007, batting .244 with four doubles, two home runs and seven RBI.

Wood, a native of Austin, Texas, is batting .264 with 21 doubles, 20 home runs and 71 RBI in 101 games for the Bees this season. He has appeared in eight games with the Angels in 2007, batting .143, with one double and one RBI.
