SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Authorities have identified a man wounded by a law enforcement officer at an Escalante home and have disclosed that officers had been investigating alleged death threats against a probation officer.

Garfield County Attorney Barry Huntington said an informant had reported death threats against probation officer Reid Bean.

The informant led officers to the home of Stacy Lyman, 51.

While serving a drug and firearm search warrant at Lyman's home, an officer shot an acquaintance of Lyman's, David Rollins, in the upper thigh, Huntington said.

Rollins was treated and released and was not arrested, Huntington said.

The task force that included officers from the sheriff's office, the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration and a Gunnison law enforcement unit.

Huntington said the officer who fired was a member of the Gunnison unit. The officer's name has not been released.

Authorities also still have not disclosed why the shot was fired, and also have not said what, if anything, was found in the search of the home.

Lyman was arrested and booked into the county jail for investigation of drug possession and weapons violations. He was being held without bail.
