Grant and I love our jobs, as most of you can tell by the way we laugh so often in the morning, but this week was almost more than we could bear. It was an embarrassment of riches to be flown by our company, Bonneville International, to Grant's old stomping ground of Seattle to receive an award. We were honored by our parent company, which owns radio stations in Seattle, Phoenix, Chicago, Washington D.C., Cincinnati and St. Louis. It was a thrill and so humbling.
I did not expect when I got into radio some 20 years ago that my career would be so closely tied to another human being. I didn't realize what it would be like to have people think my name is "Grant and Amanda," to use that phrase as if it is a single word, a single thought, which I know it now is. Sharing this honor with my partner, my friend (and probably brother in another life) was so heartening.
Grant and I are lucky to have each other - and honored to have you listening. Thank you for being there with us. Email or text us any time to tell us how we can serve you better, because this is a job I want to keep for a long, long time.
