OREM — Arson is the suspected cause of an early morning fire that did as much as $75,000 in damage to Pirate Island.
Patrons at a nearby movie theater noticed the blaze at the family restaurant and arcade at 12:32 a.m. Sunday and called the Orem fire department.
A press release by the agency said smoke was coming from the business as a result of the fire, which was contained within about an hour.
The Orem Department of Public Safety's Fire Division is continuing to sort through the evidence, but the cause of the blaze points to arson.
If anyone has information or may have seen something suspicious in the area, they are urged to call 801-229-7070.
