(KSL News) It was filmed in Utah and watched by a record number of viewers all over the nation. High School Musical 2 is a record-setter!

The Disney Channel says more than 17 million people were watching. That makes it the most-watched basic cable telecast of all time.

That also means "High School Musical 2" is the number-one original movie on basic cable.

The phenomenon isn't over yet. Plans are already in the works for High School Musical 3. It will be released in theaters. And, oh yeah, High School Musical 4 is next.
