STRAWBERRY RESERVOIR — A fatal motorcycle crash on U.S. 40 left traffic Monday on the roadway halted in both directions for over an hour.

A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene of the crash, which occurred around 9:40 a.m., but was called off after the rider died at the scene, Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said. The crash occurred between Strawberry Reservoir and Fruitland.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. At 10:30 a.m., traffic was closed in both directions, but was cleared within a half hour.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
