There’s some things in life just destined to be made fun of. One of those things resides in Italy. No, I love the people. I love the food. The leather is nice. I haven’t tried the wine or coffee, but I hear it’s good. And, they have cheese... good cheese. As far as I can tell Europe is big on the small cars. The smaller the better. That way you can park it anywhere... in a dog house, under a mailbox. I think some people just fold them up and put them in their suitcase and go upstairs to their apartment. Just add water anyone?? It’s amazing. But, there is one car in particular that’s takes the cake over all of them... the Smart Car. This little guy could be confused with some push- mowers. Actually, I think they have about the same size engine. Smart has tried to hide these jazzed up mowers with funky paint jobs, but I’m sorry there’s no hiding the size of these things. You could park one of these next to a fire hydrant and no one would see it. Maybe accidentally throw it away and not even know it. Every time I see one, I’m positive 12 clowns are going to hop out and start throwing plastic pizzas and whip cream pies. Anyone taller than 5' is going to struggle getting into one of these... and I don’t even want to talk about getting out. I’m 6'-2 and the thought of using a crowbar to pry my legs out just happens to make me cringe. Even the smallest of people looks crowded in one of these. Now, after long debate... I’ve decided I’ll stick with the BMWs, Alfa Romeos, Mercedes... even Fiats before I fold myself up and turn to the Smart Car. I’m sorry Smart Car, but relax... and enjoy the Olympics.
