NORTH SALT LAKE — A multi-car accident that sent a tractor-trailer crashing through a center median is causing big delays on I-15 in North Salt Lake.
The Utah Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 11:30 a.m. Troopers say a northbound Isuzu Trooper blew a tire near mile marker 313 and the driver lost control.
The driver of a Volvo, traveling in the same direction, swerved to avoid a collision with the Isuzu and crashed into a semi truck that was also trying to move out of the Isuzu's way.
The collision sent the big rig crashing through the center median barrier.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. No one else was injured in the accident.
Emergency management crews are now working to get the accident cleared out of traffic. It is currently blocking three northbound lanes, but traffic is slow in both directions.
