OGDEN -- A woman was killed Sunday morning when her car veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

Linda Cook, 68, of Ogden was driving on Grant Ave. in Ogden when her vehicle left the road and drove over the curb, crashing into a tree in front of a residential home around 10:45 a.m., officials said.

Cook was transported to McKay Hospital by helicopter where she later died. She was the only person in the vehicle.

The collision with the tree is still being investigated by the Ogden Police Department. The cause of the accident is still unknown, but officials said medical problems may have caused the accident.

Cook was employed part time as a school crossing guard for the city of Ogden.
