(KSL News) Workers Compensation Fund today honored family members whose loved ones were killed while on the job.

Lisa Johnson is one of 44 people who received a $2,000 scholarship from the WCF's Legacy of Learning Program today.

"I think it's great," she said. "It provides an opportunity for me to get an education and provide for them without their dad here."

Workers Compensation Fund Honors Families

Johnson's husband was a firefighter when he died in the line of duty four years ago.

The WCF awards scholarships to spouses and children of people who died in industrial accidents.

Recipients can use the scholarships for undergraduate and graduate degrees.
