NEW YORK, Feb 16, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- New York B-movie mogul Lloyd Kaufman is reportedly looking for a Broadway musical to star his gooey superhero, The Toxic Avenger.
Kaufman, who heads Troma Studios and is getting ready to release a Toxic Avenger novel in May, told the New York Post he has been talking to the same backers of Broadway's "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" in the hope of developing a musical based on his hero.
"It's still in the (expletive) stage, but that's better than the 'never-gonna-happen' or 'it's dead' stage," Kaufman told the Post.
The Toxic Avenger became a hideously deformed superhero after falling into a chemical vat of toxic waste. He uses his size and strength to fight for environmental causes.
