(KSL News) Utah County's ban on long-boarders and skateboarders is almost over.

The Deseret Morning News reports Utah County Commissioners will allow boarders back on Utah County trails, with restrictions.

Boarders have to stand on their skate deck while riding, and they must wear helmets. Pedestrians are now required to stay in their own lanes.

If anyone violates the new ordinance, they can be fined up to $750.

The new restrictions take effect August 29.
