Suspects apprehended in connection to Whittier Elementary vandalism

WEST VALLEY CITY -- Three male suspects have been apprehended following the release of surveillance video purported to show them breaking windows at a special needs medical wing currently being constructed at Whittier Elementary School in West Valley City This occurred the night of June 21.

Granite police and school district issued a statement thanking residents for several tips aiding in finding the identity of the young men, who were identified only hours after the video was shown on KSL.

Granite School District has described the acts as "felonious, and said that it has had a "significant cost to the district and taxpayers."

The school district and police are now looking to see if the suspects are connected to another incidence of vandalism at the school in early June.
