(KSL News) An argument led to a shooting overnight. Now one man is dead, another is in jail.

According to police, Kevin Shepherd and his two friends were laying carpet in a Copperton home. After the job was completed, the workers and homeowner went to a bar for some drinks. An argument started on the way back and continued at the home.

At some point, Steven Lovendahl went into his home, grabbed a handgun and shot Shepherd in the arm. Shepherd's friends put him in a car to take him to a hospital, but didn't make it and died.

Lovendahl is now booked in the Salt Lake County Jail.
