John Hollenhorst Reporting

Videotape taken by a camera lowered into a second drill hole at Crandall Canyon mine has now come out of the hole. Mine officials may be about to show it to the families of six trapped miners.

A news briefing is now expected to happen around 1:15. An earlier press conference that was scheduled for 10:00 this morning was put on hold. Now we know the reason why.

About 11:00 the state public safety helicopter flew over the mine entrance. We've now confirmed that helicopter was carrying videotape, we believe the first images from inside the mine where the cave-in occurred on Monday.

The video was taken by a high-tech camera that supposedly has very high resolution, that was lowered through the second drill hole that penetrated into the mine about 3:00 this morning.

We don't know whether the video shows anything definitive about the fate of the miners or not.

The video was flown from the mine to the town of Huntington and was reviewed there by Mine Safety and Health Administration officials, and possibly others.

Now Governor Jon Huntsman and mine owner Bob Murray have gone from that location to the junior high school, where the families of the miners are gathered. We don't know if they made a decision whether to show the video to the families. We know that they discussed doing that. But we don't know the outcome of the discussions.
