Based on the timetables that the mine operators have been telling us, tonight is the night when we may get news about the miners--good or bad. Because of that, lots of people showed up outside the junior high school in Huntington, thinking if there was any news, families at the school would hear it first.

One by one the cars carrying Robert Murray and his staff arrived at the school. About an hour later they came back out. During that time, a lot of people gathered outside, waiting for any word or sign of the condition of the miners.

Sanpete County Resident Kathy Ottoson knew today was the day Murray said we'd know something more about the condition of the miners. So when she saw a crowd of media gathered at the school, she wanted to join them.

"Just pulled in there and really start praying. And maybe we can help, the three of us. Maybe we had the stuff to send it over the edge," she said.

After the meeting at the school, one of the workers with the Safety and Health Administration who was there with the families said things progress getting to the miners looked good.

Allyn Davis said, "I don't think it's time to be relieved, but they're very worried, they're very concerned. There's a lot of fear, there's a lot of hope."

It's a hope the whole community is holding on to.

Ottoson said, "Oh yes, well we're hoping and we still feel real positive that we're gonna hear them and then we're gonna see them, and then we're gonna see them huggin' their families. You know, that's what we're waiting for."

The waiting is certainly the hardest part, especially for the families. It seems like every time they get a deadline to hear something on their family members, it keeps getting pushed back because of setbacks in the mines.
