SALT LAKE CITY -- The oldest elephant in a North American zoo celebrated her 51st birthday Saturday afternoon.
The Hogle Zoo presented Dari, an African elephant, with a 60's themed event to commemorate her birth.
Pachyderm keepers presented Dari with a special cake as part of the celebration.
Hundreds of park guest joined Dari and her elephant friends in the good times. Crafts and fun activities, including a dancing station by Play N Trade games, were set up for children. The Village Inn also treated park guests to complimentary pie,
The zoo also celebrated some of its oldest residents, the aldabra tortoises Kronk and Yzma.
