SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake police confirmed Monday they have a "person of interest" in custody in connection with the shooting of a convenience store clerk.
Last week, a man walked into the 7-Eleven at 483 S. Redwood Road, forced a clerk behind the counter, and stole money. The robber then took the clerk into a back room and shot him in the face.
The clerk barely survived, and had trouble describing the shooter.
Police arrested the "person of interest" on another charge and put that person in jail. Despite this development, investigators say they still need the public's help.
If you have any information, contact the Salt Lake City Police Department at 801-799-3000. Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the gunman's arrest.
