(KSL News) The Eagle Mountain City Council has approved a $16.5 million bond to expand the city's sewer system.

The move comes after the city delayed development in the area because of concerns the sewer system had nearly reached capacity.

Still, the Deseret Morning News reports some engineers say expanding the sewer system is only a temporary fix, and officials need to build a new sewer facility.
