(KSL News) Two people accused of killing a young boy at the Melting Pot restaurant last month now face more charges.
Pedro Gaucin-Canales and Rebecca Hernandez-Velasco already faced first-degree felony murder charges.
Now, prosecutors have added one count each of child abuse and obstructing justice.
Josue Contreras-Velasco, 9, died July 22. The defendants told police they put the boy into a trash can full of ice water until he became unresponsive.
An autopsy determined the boy died of hypothermia.
