According to Sheriff's deputies, Jasson Hines of Las Vegas shot Tracy Armstong four times at point blank range. Armstrong was registering Hine's father's cabin at the time.
There was no confrontation between the two and deputies aren't sure why Hines shot him.
Armstrong is in stable, but critical condition. Hines is now booked in the Garfield County Jail.
