SALT LAKE CITY -- Tiffany Berg, former Mrs. Utah 2007, read her newly-written book at the Living Planet Aquarium's "Something Fishy about Kids and Cancer" Monday morning.

The children's book, "If Cancer was a Fish I'd Throw It Back," describes different emotions a child may have toward cancer, using similes to get the idea across that they may experience fear, anger and other feelings as they cope with the disease -their own or a loved one's. Berg's husband died from cancer in 2009, leaving her and five children behind. Her experience led her to write this book as a way to provide the tools for other children to express themselves.

"I really wanted our kids to have the vocabulary and permission to talk about how they felt, even if they felt angry or sad," Berg said.

The event was sponsored by Hope Kids, a foundation that supports children who suffer from life-threatening illnesses. Many children were able to enjoy the morning for free.
