(KSL News) -- A Salt Lake County man, has been charged with child abuse for allegedly breaking his two-year old son's leg and some of his ribs.
Zeniff Martinez was booked into jail after the boy's mother discovered the leg injury. Further tests revealed broken ribs and head injuries.
Paul Jaroscak, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office: "He told her the child had fallen off the bed, a bunk bed. They later took the child to a local hospital where they diagnosed the injury as a broken leg. They felt the story wasn't consistent with that type of injury."
The boy is still hospitalized, but doctors expect him to recover.
